"Reading with Rocky"

Rocky visited A.B. Chandler to kick off a reading program we are doing with 1st Grade, “Reading with Rocky”. The students were read a story about Rocky and how he made his way to the farm. Rocky also gave the students a book about Ponies and Horses. Rocky and the students will be pen pals for the next five weeks then the students will go visit the farm to see where Rocky lives. Thank you Healing Reigns and Gavilon for providing this opportunity for our students.

Reading Encouragement

Hi Chandler Families! Here at Chandler we are continuing our focus on reading and starting a couple of
new things. We are asking students to take home an AR book each night and read for 20 minutes either
with a family member or independently. Secondly, we are having students read in the gym beginning at
7:15 before morning assembly. During this time, students can read with a buddy or by themselves. We
would greatly appreciate your support in encouraging your child to bring home an AR book each night to
read and have available to read in the mornings.

Perfect Attendance Bicycle Drawing

Perfect Attendance Bicycle Drawing:
Two bikes will be awarded at the end of the school year to two lucky students who have perfect attendance. That means no absences or tardies of any sort, whether excused or unexcused (no doctor appointments, funerals, sickness, etc.) All students with no absences will have their names put in a hat and one boy and one girl will be drawn to win. The bikes were donated by Academy Sports and the Masonic Lodge.
