Counseling & Guidance
My name is Devyn Brantley and I am the School Counselor at AB Chandler Elementary. This is my 2nd year as a school counselor, but my fourth working in education. I am from Smith Mills, and I still currently live there with my husband, Kyle, daughter, and our golden-doodle, Baylor! I was lucky enough to attend Chandler when I was younger and I could not be more excited to serve the community that is near and dear to me.
My goal is to help students be successful academically, socially and emotionally, in addition to adequately preparing them to become college and career ready. As a School Counselor, I also work with students with any mental health problems.
I am very devoted to contacting and communicating with parents/guardians, and welcome any parents to call/email me if their child(ren) are in need of extra support in some way. I work closely with our Family Resource Director, Autumn Hagan, and our School Mental Health Counselor, Kelly Palmer, in assisting and supporting our parents, teachers, and staff to ensure students’ academic and social/emotional success.
How I help students: One on one Counseling, Small Group Counseling, and Guidance Lessons. Every student will have guidance time with me, and learn social/emotional skills through interactive lessons weekly. I also work with some students in a small group setting on topics such as: Friendships, Grief, Social Skills, etc. And, I work with students on a 1:1 basis, as well, for all other emotional, mental health crises that may arise.
I look forward to working with you all this year, and please contact me for any assistance you may need.
